National University of Singapore (NUS UROPS)
Established in 1905 as a medical school, NUS is widely known for its innovative and rigorous education, research, and entrepreneurship. So far, KAUST has hosted three NUS interns, in the Chemical Science, Plant Science and Applied Mathematics and Computational Science Programs.
Main VSRP agreement features:
Up to five (5) students nominated by NUS Faculty of Science to participate in 10 to 12 week internships during NUS Special Terms 1 and 2 (May to July 2021)
VSRP interns will participate in full-time for-credit research under faculty supervision at KAUST, and will receive an official transcript from KAUST
Bioscience, Environmental Science and Engineering, Applied Mathematics and Computational Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Science, Earth Science and Engineering, Material Science and Engineering programs
Louis Stokes Regional NSF International Center of Excellence (LSAMP-NICE)
This program, funded by the National Science Foundation, supports sustained and comprehensive approaches to increase the number of students who earn doctorates in STEM fields, particularly those from underrepresented populations. LSAMP-NICE is a five-year center that investigates and disseminates international research experiences and persistence in STEM for traditionally underrepresented minority students. KAUST is one of the LSAMP-NICE international partners for research internship placements for undergraduate and M.S. students.

Karolinska Institutet (KI)
The Karolinska Institute is a research-led medical university in the Stockholm area. It is one of Sweden's most prominent centers for training and research, accounting for 30% of the medical training and more than 40% of all academic medical and life science research conducted in Sweden.
Main VSRP agreement features:
Up to five (5) students nominated by NUS Faculty of Science to participate in 10 to 12 week internships during NUS Special Terms 1 and 2 (May to July 2021)
